A Ride Around Scotland in November

Thanks for the replies, it was a really enjoyable trip and a great way to use up our last holidays for 2010.

Nice report there,mate. :thumb2

Thanks for posting and sharing it with us.

There`s some awesome photos, especially the reflections on the lakes.

I could 'feel' the cold at times too.....bet some of the roads were 'interesting'.......:D

The shaded parts of Applecross Peninsular were very 'interesting' most of the others were ok with the odd bit of slippery shiny tarmac.

Thanks for the report, love Scotland. Those pods look very interesting...

The pods in Applecross are spacious have good lighting, sleeping mats are included and they are also heated. The Langdale pods are carpeted but don't have mats, aren't heated or lit and to be honest my tent is warmer but they were handy for our needs this time.

Great write up and nice pics,, by the way are those pods bookable online or was it turn up and book?

Both are bookable Applecross here and Langdale here.

Oh and anybody that fancies a bit of winter camping is welcome to join us at Langdale Campsite on Boxing Night. We'll arrive on Boxing Day and camp for that night and the following night. I'll post a reminder nearer the time and this isn't an organised do :D

Cheers

Dave and Sandra

Great ride report, lovely part of the world isnt it?

Here's a similar reflection photo from a similar part of Scotland.

Thanks Dellis.

Aidan / Matt /Dellis Thanks for the links

Agreed and thanks as those pods would be ideal on our next trip up back to the homeland :flag

The pic at Lochgoilhead brought back memories of aged 17 arriving at a mates function there by swimming along the lochs edge underwater in dry suits and scuba gear then 4 of us popping up at the pub as everyone stood about on a summers evening ................... undo dry suits to reveal full dinner jacket and trousers, then pop on shoes and walk across to pub ;)

Ahh, good evening 007 :beerjug:

Looks like you had much better weather at Applecross than you did in September Dave, but I don't fancy the icy roads. You took some lovely photos. Pic from last time I always meant to post
