I described a chap at work as a ginger ninja, and an asian guy said it was racist.

The BMW haters only want you to believe that BMW spare part prices are high. My experience says they are about the same as other brands.

Only if you are a fucking idiot who loves to be offended on behalf of others![]()
Got f*ck all to do with being a BMW hater or wanting people to believe that BMW spare prices are high, my bike had reasonably light use and whilst I owned it covered less than 14,000 miles but needed 2 new front shock absorbers and 1 new rear , that would have been bills for well over £4000 just for shock absorbers on a 35 month old motorcycle.
BMW have cut their initial costs by fitting cheaply specced shock absorbers.....Sachs can make very good quality dampers (I've owned numers cars which had them fitted and they lasted over 10 years and 100,000 miles with ease)
Shall I cancel my 2018 GSA then?
I still bought one but without the poxy ESA
I agree with but the point I was making is the prices aren't all that different from what I can see. People want to bang on about high spare part prices with BMW but the post I replied to makes a point that Yamaha are charging almost the same.
If BMW should have used a better quality shock is a good question but really a different conversation that the topic of this thread.

I wonder if Yamaha would replace the shock, FOC, on a bike that’s 2 years out of warranty![]()

I wonder how many of the Yamaha units have failed at under 20K ?
No idea just like I have no idea how many BMW shocks have failed. I am sure BMW have sold a shitload more GS/GSA models than Tenere's with electronic suspension.
Just a few more....
