Had a day out at Oulton yesterday... Not sure if its a ride report, but feck it... Wind your speakers up to loud, and fall back into the music of the olden days :D:D:D

General discussion on this track day.... I've done Oulton on an 08 GS.... The twin cam engine definitely feels better.. The extra weight of the GSA isn't so great.. And I only had Tourances on so didn't feel that confident, after the back end slipping out in a few of the early sessions. Probably just too cold and damp still..

Getting some video of yourself really helps on form.. I clearly haven't got a clue what is means to move around the bike.. My body positioning is woeful !!...

Nice little ride round there mate! :thumb2

Looks like you were getting past a few too. Even on a lardy old (new)GS.

It's all în the edit :D:D

There was someone else in the intermediates having a good blast too...

Nice one C-J

Really liked that, got me back in the mood for a GSA, I had mine nicked in July 2012 and never replaced it cause I have an S1000RR, but thats getting replaced in May with an HP4 carbon.
My mates all told me I leaned my GS better than my sportsbike. Last year got my knee down and apparently nearly my panniers riding from Armadale to the Skye bridge through some brilliant wee bends, yet never had my knee down on the RR, even on a trackday
There is just something about the GSA that keeps pulling at my heart.

Thanks for that C-J

that got the juices going, thank's :thumb2
got quite a bit of on bike video at oulton myself. going to dig it out and watch it again now :thumb2

Some bikes just don't lend themselves to being climbed all over, and (its just a personal opinion ..!) I think the GSA is one of them.

So I sit pretty still on mine.

I've followed a whole host of blokes on track who are so busy trying to hang off and get their knee down, that they're positively feckin' slow!

On the right bike, yep absolutely, half a buttock out the saddle, outer thigh and outer fore arm on tank and a six inch gap between inside thigh and tank:

But that's on a purpose built bike that has evolved over years and years from kenny Roberts to Rossi - moulding and shaping the bike.

Check out this super moto vid. These guys sit perfectly still in the saddle - no half buttocks out here.

So don't worry about peer pressure and whose getting their knee down  On yer GSA sit pretty still in yer seat. You'll be slower for trying to hang off .. :thumb2
