Can anyone put forward a suggestion for a mobile phone?

1) Quad Band/good coverage Uk and abroad.

2) excellent battery/standby life

3) Physically robust

4) if possible.pay as you go.

Thats all i require from a mobile phone for work and when i am off touring,i really do not need a phone with a mp3/camera/internet/tea-making facility.

Im not too bothered about the cost, but prefer it to be cheaper as it will be getting muddy and abused,I did see a excellent one in O2 called Jet i think, but they have now stopped doing them.

Thanks for the help.

A Nokia 6310 would meet all those requirements apart from the quad-band one. However, if tri-band would suffice......

Good call. I use a 6310i, and the battery life is great. Does everything I want from a phone. And it fits the hands-free kit that was in the car when I bought it. :thumb

You'll be wanting an O2 Jet... Designed for you Sir.

Thats the one, quad band, which the other suggestions aren't :thumb2

I'm a fan of the 6310i - very robust, has Bluetooth, Infrared, great battery life (and you can also get a 3200mAh battery for it, that lasts about a month!)

It's not quad-band, of course............:augie

(Don't confuse with 6310 - which is not tri-band at all)

For battery life can't fault my Sony Ericsson - took it away for three weeks and didn't charge it once although kept on for an hour or two each day - couldn't tell you if tri-band or quad band \9:nenau) or even which model (it is black).

So not much use at all I'm afraid, don't know why I replied- oh, the previous one was orange and white and that didn't bounce very well because falling out of my tankbag at 70mph destroyed it, but the SIM card did survive and still works to this day!

nokia 5140 or the 5140i Designed to be abused, good battery life, only downside is the triband. I threw mine across a factory by accident :augie Landed in some water and still works :D
