My pal Les and I recently went for a wander around Scotland - 900 miles in 3 days. It’s fair to say the weather was very Scottish hence the clouds in the pics and the thorough testing of waterproofs! Having said that it didn’t rain all of the time and when the sun was out it was spectacular.
The route was roughly:-
Day 1 Newcastle over to Fort William via Callender and Glen Coe - 260 miles
Day 2 north following the west coast via Ullapool, Cape Wrath and along the north coast stopping in Tongue or Tunga as they like to call it – 270 miles.
Day 3 back down through the central highlands - a lot of single track roads in the far north picking up the A9 briefly then over past Pitlochrey, Loch Tay then cutting back south east and home.
Near Ullapool
Les and his new bike.
Along the coast.
Further north.
Black clouds.
Rufty tufty ADV pose
Hilarious Darth Peach pose\moment - well it was funny after i rolled out of the way of some numpty in his corsa hurtling down the single track road - all together now, hes behind you!!
Its Sunny ahead....
Hotel in Tunga car park view south.
and west
I’ll definitely be going back much of northern Scotland was very reminiscent of the Alps only a much wilder and varied landscape.
Cheers
