Just come back from a few days in Scotland.

My feet were wet despite Gaerne boots.

............and whilst I was dry my Frank Thomas Arizona jacket had pockets full of water and my Hein Gericke trousers were the same.

Technically I was dry but most of my possesions were soaked.

I'd like me and my stuff to be dry.

Any ideas?

You can buy some small 'dry bags' from camping shops. They come in a variety of sizes and it's easy to por your wallet, keys, mobile into one and pop them into a pocket.

Peter

I can take a photo of one if you don't know what I mean.

I usually resort to supermarket freezer-bags and the likes of zip-loc stuff but kind of hoped bike gear had moved on......

PS Is Hein Gericke Tuareg stuff really waterproof?? Anybody??

Thanx ayway.........

My Hein Gericke Master suit is pretty waterproof, except for the pockets. I could keep goldfish in 'em.

Aerostich Roadcrafter, goretex gloves of your choice and sealskin socks in any old boots.

Job done.

I still use a one piece waterproof outfit if it's really tipping down. It's the only real way of staying dry.I also use freezer bags for my phone, wallet etc. Works for me.

Marcus.

Try Daytona boots, not leaked yet regardless of what the Welsh weather has thrown at them.

The Roadcrafter outer pockets will leak too if it is not waterproofed properly!!

Maybe there is a cheaper solution!

Just was your garment then do another wash but use the NikWax waterproofing solution (remember to buy the wash in version and not the spray on)

Bingo! No more waterlogged outside pockets!

T.

Ive tried the Nikwax wash in treatment twice on my HG Voyager jacket (which has leaked from new as did the first one which was replaced under warranty!) with not much success.Any tips?

Wash the jacket first in Lux soapflakes (or similar) not detergent. Then use the Nikwax

Nope. They don't do what it says on the label. You are not the only one. I have not been that impressed with my Tuareg trousers, they have not kept me totally dry.

Harps :(

rukka A Tech and daytona boots work for me. sometimes put on waterproofs over the top if its below 5 degrees and tipping it down ( like christmas in cornwall)

Infinity in Holborn will negotiate on prices on Rukka gear

that's what i want to hear, i've just bought rukka A tech :)

and the local shop down the road negotiated on price too :D

Gore-tex boot liners from your local Army & Navy surplus store.. the one on Westgate Road sometimes has them in stock.

Pocket liners as supplied with BMW Savanna Jacket..

Worked for Georgia on the T*sser tour;)
