A Weekend of GS Trail Riding 9th & 10th June 2007

Btw, Nin and TRF Simon are one and the same person... :D

Ha!

That's what you think! I am my own twin uncle-brother.

Clive, if the group gets too big we could split it - happy to lead one if necessary, or sweep up, or generally make meself useful on the saturday.

I was rather thinking of another famous couple in British literature (Scottish author, to be precise... :augie)

I only did ENGLISH literature at school. And that was in Africa!

So I don't have the first idea what you're on about.

Welcome back BTW:thumb2

PS I'm off up to Bill's in a couple of weeks time:D

I'll decide on the day - I'd prefer to keep together as a single group if possible so will need a sweeper. Thanks for the offer. :thumb2

9&10

Ill be there and bringing a new bod along on a drz400, i hope all these people can pick their bikes up, pumpy?????

Yes that's him - at least its the same name as someone selling a beaten up over priced black 1100GS petrol tank on Ebay, that looks vaguely familiar ....

Thanks for your confirmation - the details in his profile are not many but they were all matching... :D

Nick, I'm counting on you... :mmmm

9-10TH JUNE

Very common name abebusa, i looked at that tank and wondered why it was so cheap?

Clive what are the maps on the thread, can they be downloaded, coming on this site makes me understand that im a bit behind with the tech stuff.

The maps are just screen captures of Mapsource - I'm not quite finished yet, but I'll eventually post up a Mapsource .gdp file.

I am assuming that we will get to the Calne area around 3pm via the waypoints on the left of this screenshot.

After unloading gear and setting up camp we can make up a route for the rest of the day around the Avebury area from OS Maps.

The waypoints numbered 200 onwards are those that we will start with on the Sunday morning.

Note I haven't managed to recce 204-205 - the day I visited 205 was a bit damp, I was on my own and on the way to work - it was through a gate across a field - looked muddy and rutted :thumb2
