A friend rang me yesterday asking if I would be interested in buying a bike belonging to a friend of his. I haven't seen the bike and the owner, aparently doesn't know what it's worth or what to ask for it. The information I have so far is:
2003 1150 GS Adventure, 16,000 miles black engine, heated grips, engine bars, panniers, BMW Sat-nav, Autocom and a brand new battery.
I'm told it's in virtually unmarked condition with full service history and every receipt from new. The owner has said he doesn't want to advertise it as he doesn't want strangers coming to his house, he'd prefer that it sells 'word of mouth' The figure that was quoted to me suggests the guy really doesn't know it's value as it seemed low to me.
I'm not interested in buying it myself but as the title suggests, I'm not sure of it's value either. I said I'd post up here and see what the collective think.
