Hi
Not sure if this is the right place for this.
I am travelling from E,Yorks to Edinburgh on Sunday to pick up a bike,i will be using a transit van and don't know if it is best to use the A68 or A1 any advice would be appreciated.

Steve

IMO A68 is a great bike road but not so good in the van. Lots of slow moving sunday drivers that you would zip past on the bike may become tiresome in a loaded van.

A1 is boring but better in a van

what he said

stick to the A1 unless you like scenery:thumb

Watch out for the cameras on the single carriageway part of the A1 ;)

Loads and well hidden. I'd do the A68 if the weather was nice, otherwise around the coast.

You could always take the A697 which is better than the A1 and not as busy as the A68.

+1 for A697. Nicer road than A1, light traffic, still some speed cameras though:thumb2

A68 is not the ideal road for a van and a lot more traffic.

A1 is dull but effective with a less hills if your van lacks power.
