Past 3 mobile "safety" cameras a couple of weeks ago on the A82 between Glencoe and Crianlarich, not seen any signs like this yet

Yes sorry about that. They are called Vehicle Activated Signs (VAS).

A85 eastbound at Tynreoch, St Fillans and at Twenty Shilling Wood, Comrie

Basically a loop in the road that measures your speed as you pass over it and a warning will flash on a board in front of you.

Got a number of these 'Reduce Speed' signs around West Lothian to encourage drivers to self moderate their speed.
