Two and a half hours trying to make this Beowulf end can fit on my GSA. It doesn't. I don't care what anyone says. There's no way.
SO it's now ten to seven, the Mrs is doing her nut, and I have no exhaust at all.
:mad::mad::mad::mad:
I appreciate I may be doing something stupid here, but however I do, whatever way I try, it just will not go.:blast:blast:blast:blast:blast:blast

I'm sure it's not user error :augie

In all seriousness, in what way does it not fit?

Two-fold:

1. Supports that go around the pipe and clamp to the bracket may close ready for screwing, if you had pneumatic fingers - might be able to do it with enough blood loss. That's solvable, probably, but..
2. The OEM pipe attaches to the bracket with a bastard great bolt, running through a thick rubber retainer and into a receiving piece. The kit from Beowulf includes nothing to attach the bracket to the bike, so I presume I use the OEM bolt but when I do I"m left with half an inch or more of play - just rattles about.
Receiving piece is no good because it's part of the original pipe, and won't stay there without it.

Not smoking isn't helping, but still...
If I'm being thick I'll swap years of piss-taking for a solution, cos am sick of the sight of it now. :(:(

Still not sure I'm getting the issue and I'm multi-tasking on the phone right now.. can you post a couple pics?

Suc-fookin-cess

Call to Toad, bless 'im, down in Kent.:beer:
Quick comparison of notes, a picture msg and a look around surrounding GSAs and we discover the issue is a mid-08 GSA change in exhaust mountings so I was right, the bugger wouldn't have fitted. :comfort
However, this knowledge allowed me to bodge it using various bits laying about. :hammer:
Result - stubby Beowulf sans baffle and the bike sounds a little like a Hurricane in a steep dive.
:likeit

If it sounds like a hurricaine it'll sound awesome :thumb2

Should of got an Akra and not a cheapo Beowulf :blast

my Beowulf sounded great [far better than Akro] and took 15 Min's to fit.
Sold to Sgt Bilko who loves the sound and fitted his GSA with no problem.
they have a lifetime warranty and under 1/2 the price of an Akro.
:aidan

Cheers Mav - I called Toad (who I bought the pipe from) and we sorted it out (see above). Appreciate the offer/help though. :thumb2

Tossers** paying £600+ for 15 extra bhp might we well advised to save their cash and go for a jog once a week to achieve the same result... :augie

Each to their own if you're happy with your bodge fit cheapo can fair play, its your bike!!

Tooke me a while to work out how to mount my Beowulf on my 1200GS... To start with I tried using the big rubber bung that is on the standard can, hopeing this would provide a bit of damping... Didnt really work.

In the end i just used the standard bolt, and cut up a bit of old bar grip tape as kind of washers each side. Worked a treat !:D:D:D

I do love the Beowulf.. Givs the bike a bit of character in the noise department, and looks so much better than the standard can. It's a bit too much character with the baffle out !!;););)

Might have mine up for sale soon as I'm thinking of returning the bike to standard before I trade it in.
