Cheers for the reply.
Me & Bilks have aquired some of these 15' stainless steel thingies

Look to be a bit long but, definitely sturdy...my chains are about 10 inches (I think - haven't had a chance to measure them as I got sent off on a last minute business trip). Basically, I sized them by going to the first detent on the lids and step it off a little bit. If you have a tape measure from bolt to bolt to get an idea. I made the leashes so that the lids would stay up on they're own but did so by applying all the pressure to the leash and none to the hinges. As soon as I get home on Friday I'll do a proper measure on my lengths...I PROMISE!!!!

IT,S ALRIGHT

Vern it,s alright because the two boy,s dont fall into the categorey of REAL TRAVELLER ,,The mike o " boy " think,s he still ridin his horsey in the good oul west, leather pannier,s and a stirrup will do nicely. And as for the GALOUISE "boy" his is strictly an urban machine, inso far as he only want,s the O.E. panniers for his once weekly jaunt to the supermarket..YOU KNOW THE ONE THAT DOES HOME DELIVERIES so he dosent damage his panniers or their wires.

Civil,

If you had said TWO stirrups you would be closer to the mark...

In honesty

I just dont understand why you lot are not showing the man the support he deserves,I think it takes a lot of balls to be prepared to put your product up for public scrutiny.I hope to have my pair soon and i will give an honest opinion of them .Later in the year i will be travelling to N.Africa hopefully with vern,s panniers and this will be a true test of them.In the mean time i will be pottering between Ireland ,Scotland and England, this will show up any prob,s.Problem,s appear quickly on an item that get,s such intense use just ask any O.E. B.M.W box owner who will tell you of the weak hinge,s . URS CIVILITY HIMSELF sometimes ..

Good.

I would like:

1 x packet of weetabix
2 x loaves of sliced bread
1 x tin of baked beans
half lb butter
pack of loo rolls
washing up liquid
pound of carrots
Some oranges
2 pints of milk

and you can leave the bike.

Does anybody know the details for getting replacement parts for these panniers???

In particular the keyed catches to attach to the frame and the hinges for the lid???

All the info on this site seems to be about plastic system panniers. :spitfire

any help appreciated as my alu panniers are in a state at the moment.
