I thought enduro bikes were barred from the off road trail?I’m just home, still grinning from ear to ear - my first ABR, and I was very impressed.
Facilities were amazing - bogs pretty good if you avoided the portaloos, showers were long and hot (dodge the queues by avoiding mornings). Food was excellent, I ate really well. A main course was about £10 which I don’t begrudge. Decent speakers if you pick the subjects you are interested in - I found Lel Pavey and Austin Vince both great. Trade areas and ‘shops’ were good with a huge range of stuff to try on and very friendly staff. Test rides were fun - I rode an F900GS through the Off Road School (lovely, but not worth £10k over my 800) and a GasGas 2 stroke enduro bike which was possibly the most amusing 40 minutes of riding of my life - wheelies and jumps from anything!
The site was very clean, well marshalled, felt very secure, everyone we spoke to was lovely. Met a few personalities that I follow - TAM Podcast lads, a number of YouTubers and Harvey Rides Bikes who was the nicest fella you can imagine. Didn’t drink any beer or watch much music as it wasn’t really to my taste. Magic Teapot was pretty fun.
The trails were perfect - two laps of the Bridgestone on my F800GSA (very dusty though, and some of the enduro bikes passed way too close and quickly) and the TRF on the GasGas, which I’m glad I skipped on the GSA as I would have found it pretty tough going.
Overall, I had a great weekend, and will definitely be back next year.
They are. Guessing someone is confusing 690/701, etc with their smaller cousins.I thought enduro bikes were barred from the off road trail?
Mostly shut due to the main entrance being unable to get ambulances throughI saw a silver one admiring the view?
Trail was fun but often shut due to incidents.

I spoke to a paramedic Sat night ( just thanking them for being there) I said Id seen a few arms in a sling. To which he responded with enthusiasm “ Oh no we have had much more than those” I didn't see any ambulances on the move though, however quite a few demo bikes came back in replete with turves of grass!Mostly shut due to the main entrance being unable to get ambulances through
There were three Warks ambo’s coming out from the off road area with security escorts at various points.I spoke to a paramedic Sat night ( just thanking them for being there) I said Id seen a few arms in a sling. agreeThis years ABR was absolutely first class and everyone I spoke to thought so to.
They have really worked hard to make it a festival feel and I think they have finally found the way to do it.
Previously, things have been a little haphazard with regard to stalls, manufacturers, tour companies etc but this year they put everything where you would expect to find it. They kept the bike manufacturers stands and test rides separate from everything else which was brilliant for teh exhibitors.
They also sorted the camping out this year as well so it wasn't so all over the place and certainly the exhibitors campsite was excellent.
As an exhibitor, I can safely say that 90% of my target audience was at the show so it's perfect. It's the same for all the other exhibitors I spoke to including the likes of Mosko Moto, Rugged Roads etc etc who all attend along with some great quirky stalls selling everything from natural insect repellant to hippy clothes!!
Is it expensive? On the face of it yes but where else are you going to get the sheer range of stuff to buy, stuff to test, tours to look at, interesting people to listen to and good bands to bop to with a half decent pint?
Nothing else is really like it and as long as they keep it the same as this year, it will continue to be a great place to go.
I see eraly bird tickets are available already at £109.
That has to be a bargain.

I did see on TMF video a rider on a group test that failed to make the 30ft transition over mowed park estate to gravel drive without gobbing it.I spoke to a paramedic Sat night ( just thanking them for being there) I said Id seen a few arms in a sling.
