Hi,

I have checked some of the posts but didn't figured out a solution.

The problem I have with the ABS is that it works sometimes.
I start the bike and when I drive away most of the times the ABS doesn't work. I stop the engine and try again and sometimes the ABS starts to work.
Are there anything I can do about it?
It seems to work more often after driving a while.

From det beginning everything worked well but it started to behave like this when I removed the battery in the beginning of last year.

Battery is probably at the end of its life. It needs a good voltage in order to initialise the ABS. Any shortage of volts means the ABS does not 'set' properly when started.

Battery.

If you're doing short journeys, lights on in cold weather, it may be just thatthe battery's not getting fully recharged and that causes the ABS test to fail.....otherwise, as LRR says, the battery may be shagged.

(Or the bike could be leaking juice through a ddodgy connection/open circuit etc)

Also check the air gaps on the abs sensors & make sure the sensor & abs rings are clean if its the battery the lights on the abs will flash independant (mine do) but if they flash together as when you start the bike before you move off it may be the sensors

What if........When you set off, the top light goes out, but the bottom one remains on.........

Battery ?

Answer my own question..........

Tail light housing....clean out.....connections etc..... :thumb :thumb :thumb

A five minute search on this site gave me the answer

What would we do without it ? :)
