Abs-ectomy

Anyone with experience or information pertaining to the removal of abs from a non-sevo 1200 would be dearly appreciated. Have got as far as bypassing the hyraulic circuits with no trouble but indications are that you loose the brake lights as presumably the sensor is contained in the abs. I guess the simplest remedy for this would be fitting a pressure switch to both circuits. Now the abs lump could be extracted and guessing again (double guessing already) but should that affect any other systems aside from the warning lamp which would presumably become redundant and therefore simply removed?

'Scuse my ignorance, but why not just turn it off on the handlebar switch?

My toenails need cutting.

My toenails need cutting, so I will just cut my legs off at the knees.
Bit drastic, but it will cure the problem, and save me the bother of cutting them again.

Yes I know and appologise to anyone who missed the bus. Completely my fault. Guess I'll just slither quietly away in the hope no one noticed. I'll try to think it through properly a bit more in future and sorry to for any offence.

The problem you will have (as far as I can see) is that the ABS braking unit talks to the main ecu across the CAN network. If the ABS/Servo pump is no longer there I suspect the main ecu will become rather upset and throw up a whole string of error messages/warning lights.

You would need the ECU to be reprogrammed with the software version or option for the non-abs bike in order to enable removal of the ServoABS unit. Not sure how the non-servo bike gets around the pressure switch problem you mention but my guess is you would need to fit whatever sensors the non servo bikes have in lieu of the servo pump.

I've got a servo ABS 55 year bike, and the brake lights seem to be connected by the microswitches in the brake lever housing and foot brake lever.

I would guess you might get errors from the ECU if the ABS pump is no longer there, would need to check the circuit diagrams to be certain.
