ABS failure - is it possible?

Just looking at all the ABS related threads here..

Just had a thought.

The GS came in 2 versions i believe ... ABS as an option or NON ABS..

Can the non ABS ecu be coded to an ABS bike??

The thinking is - if the software isn't looking to do ABS cycling / tests on startup,

then the ABS lamps shouldn't light up ??

Or does it throw other errors?

Different ecu as there is an additional plug on the ecu to accept the abs. So probably no.

That's the hardware side of things, its the software side i'm interested in .

Probably easier to pick up a non ABS ECU on eBay. No software worries then?

Could be an option, but then you would need it remarried coded to all the bits on the bike, keys etc

Looks like its the ZFE module that does the relevant ABS reporting .

Their are about 6 differnt options on this one part.

Need some nice tosser with a non abs GS to have a look at their ZFE,

and report back which one they have
