ABS fault (again)

I have a 2001, 1150GS . after being left over night outside the abs lights go out when I move off, when I pull up and stop after a short distance abs lights start to flash . i then have to reset the abs maually (The Steptoe way).
if the bike is left in the garage on optimate overnight this problem does not happen
do I need a new battery ?
