Hi,

My ABS has just started playing up - with the ABS light flashing 4times a second and the brakes working in "residual mode" only. No squelchy noise from the servo. Have tried the reset procedure as per this site, using the brown/black wire as my plug has no brown/blue one, but it makes no difference.

It all worked fine until yesterday... when I fitted a BOS Y-piece and end can (all went on really well). I went to fit the chip and took the motronic unit off the bike, but then discovered I'd need a Torx socket with a hollow end as the screws have a raised lug in the middle (my torx sockets are solid), so I put it back unmolested. This morning when I went out to try it all out, the ABS was not working as above.

I've stripped the bike again and can't find any plugs that are disconnected, fuses that are blown, or anthing else that looks like its not back correctly. As mentioned I've tried the reset procedure, but all to no avail - the ABS light flashes 4 times/sec during the procedure and still no ABS...

I'm desperate to get the bike working again as I need it - and getting it to the dealer is going to be a pain (and this being Sunday, they're all shut)...

Any ideas? :nenau

DOh!!! Rear brake light switch...

How embarassing... :blast :blast :blast

Have just been out to put the tank back on and sulk, when discovered the brake light was permanently on... when fitting the centre-stand stop yesterday, I mistakenly thought it went on the same bolt as the rear brake, and had loosened this before realising it didn't. When I tighted it up again, I'd got the brake light switch caught in below the activating screw, so the brake light was on all the time... moved it back to where it should be an hey-presto, ABS and servo now working fine... :augie

I'm now off to hide my mechanical incompetence... :hide
