On a couple of mornings over the past few weeks upon startup I have had the alternate flashing ABS red lights. After cleaning and spraying things it still happened so I called in to AJ in Shipley, they plugged the fault finder plug thingy in to interrogate any faults and found no faults
However it turns out that if you are in the habbit of just turning off the ignition (as I was), and starting up next day with lights on and heated grips on this lowers the voltage enough make the ABS think there is a low volt problem, which there is of course until you ride for a bit :blast

So to sum up, Start up in a morning with everything electrical switched off. Since I have done this no problems.

I could've told you that :D :D :D :D

Also, Don't fire the bike up straight away, wait for the ABS lights to change before firing up. I was turning the key and firing up and this screws with the ABS.

Glad you've got it sorted.

I had the same problem with my bike .Had it constantly on the optimate turning on ignition the two lights came on together as they should ,but when i tried to fire the bike up the abs lights flashed showing fault. As the bike was showing a good maintained battery on the optimate i thought it might be the starter on the way out drawing to much current .As the bike was still under warranty i asked the garage mechanic his thoughts he told me to jump the bike if thetwo lights stay on as they should together the battery is knacked .This happened to be the case and anew battery later problem solved.:thumb
