Hi all, new here. Just bought a 2000 model bike that has been sat for a couple of years. Fitted a new battery and starter motor and it fired up and runs very well. I noticed that the abs Lights dont illuminate at all I can hear the abs warning light relay clicking away until I press the abs switch then it stops. Anyone have an idea of where to start fault finding? I intend to check the bulbs first but just wondered if anyone else had already been through this?

Do you know if the abs worked prior to you getting the bike ? It’s not unknown that a previous owner removed the bulbs due to a fault to stop the flashing abs lights annoying/distracting them.

The bike is completely unknown to me. I checked the bulbs which were both defective and the lights now work, I reset the abs as they were flashing alternately and rode it down the lane, fails the self test and gives 7 flashes on the test lamp which I believe indicates a control unit fault. I also had an issue with the front brake lever being locked up solid, I fitted new braided lines today and still no change, I then stripped the front circuit of the modulator and cleaned it out and now the front brake is working perfectly. Back brake works fine and the brake light works. Am I just going to have to removed the abs?
