I'm having a issues with R1150GS (2001 non servo model).....

ABS light flashing alternatively since I got back from Highland, Scotland to Cardiff - tried to do a reset procedure - no luck until a nice chappie with G911 gizmo to do a diagnostic check on ABS - saying "No ABS function" was advised that my GS's ABS is knackered!!!! My bottom squeaked cos of expensive job - £1050 plus labour plus VAT!!!!!

Feck, I'm considering for a non-ABS conversion kit - can anyone can advise me if there is a procedure to do with removal of ABS unit and put in non-ABS pipework/electric in place???? Part from Motorworks??????

Please advise....

Thanks

I believe ...

... yours is the non-servo ABS; if that's the case, have you checked the tail light bulb, and when did it last have a new battery ?

Both of the above can prevent the ABS from re-setting and are a lot less expensive to cure :augie

Failing that, Steptoe is 'yer man for all things oily :thumb

Don't worry about it - no need to remove the abs as you'll still have the same brakes.
It's the servo/abs braked models that need the servo/abs unit removing.

Rear bulb affecting the brakes is a servo only problem.

Plain and simple ABS only models don't have any links between bulbs and brakes.

A Bloody S

Just take out the relay, and bulbs and for get it more trouble than it's worth,
take note of Mr Steppers advice, none better.

Thanks..... mine is a non-servo model.... a nice chappie at Cardiff Mottarad reset with his G911 gizmo...... It is now reseted but the ABS is "non-fuctioning" as stated but bugger all!!! At least reseted then the ABS light is now gone until the next time!!!
