Following on from my "Clutch knackered?" thread, I have another in the "knackered?" series. Bike is a '98 1100GS.

Startup red lights flashing as expected and go out once I drive off. Occasionally I get the constant flashing but I think that's 'cos the battery is on it's last legs. A ignition off and on/start the bike usually fixes that.

I've noticed that I can lock/skid both the front and rear wheels (not at the same time) when coming to a stop. Might only be for a foot or so as I'd not tried anything longer.

This how it works and does it take a bit longer for the ABS to kick in?

When ABS lamps are flashing You have No ABS

It might be you're below the lower threshold of speed when you're just about to stop If the lamps are flashing then that is the problem

ABS

How fast were you moving at the time it don't work at slow speeds ie 5mph.
