My '07 GSA is in for a service and a set of new brake calliper pistons as one has seized.
Just had a call from the workshop saying there is a problem with the ABS as the ABS warning light keeps coming on on the test ride!!
Now this bike was fine before they collected it and has been since last summer and it seems very odd that now the ABS light is coming on just after they have changed the pistons in the front O/S unit.
They says it is not related to the work they have done, but I am very pi**ed off as it was fine on Monday when I rode it, but they claim the light is on all the time.
Hopefully my extended warranty will cover this but I will still have a £100 excess, otherwise it is approx £1600.00.

Comments thoughts please....
Thanks

Sounds a bit suspect to me but these ABS issues are a pain. I was out today and twice the ABS light came on as I was coming down of a high ish mountain pass. On both occassions I stopped and switched her off and then on agian an the light went out both times and I had no more problems on the way back home:confused:

Surely the extended warranty will cover the cost, Its £100 bill you don't need but at least you get £1600 worth for the cost of the cover

Yea they have since confirmed it is covered but thats still another £100 on top of the bill :blast
Just weird that it was fine before it left, they work on the brakes and now there is a brake warning light on which I have to pay towards....
They also suggest a new rear disk and pads as the limit is 4.5mm and mine is 4.4mm, I didn't even ask how much that would be and politley declined!

Gotta say I am not very impressed with the German build quality of these bikes, I have had 2 news shaft drives and numerous recalls, good job I took out ext warranty.

did the diagnostics tell them the fault and what was changed in the end?

Assuming it is a servo ABS bike, do they understand how the system works?
