Hi all,

Around 5 weeks ago I ordered a none-ABS 1200gs, but the dealer rang today and said they've made a mistake.... ABS was ordered with the bike, to cut a long story short hes offered me the ABS at half price- around £397ish..... he already thrown in heated grips! Is it worth paying this for the ABS? He's also offered any accessory at list price......

I'm not sure what to do......

Cheers

On my 2nd GS with ABS: 650 last time, before the 1200 and I wouldn't be without it now.

I know you'll get a zillion replies saying "Real men can beat ABS", but at least with it fitted you can switch it off if you want.

I know that it worked a few times on the 650, but not so far on the 1200 - It's nice to know it's there just in case...

:shout :soapbox:

Guess it depends on if you want ABS or not...

If you're not fussed i'd be tempted to turn him down, telling him it was his mistake not yours, you want your bike as ordered (in same time) or you'll gladly take the ABS version at no extra cost.

You may get it, you may not!

If you particularly want the ABS, then half price isn't a bad option is it?

As for the "any accessory at list price" surely anyone who goes in to any dealer gets that??????? Thats no deal, thats normal shop price isn't it?????

Just my two penneth....

Personally i'd go for the first option... "not my mistake guvnor" and see what happens....

but in the end... decision is yours...

good luck, let us all know the outcome??
