ABS problem 1150

i have trawled throgh the tech section but cant find anything similar

got an 03 twinspark 1150GS with servo and ABS

Problem? the ABS seems to kick in at very low speed/light front lever pressure

brakes are excellent no sign of any problem during normal use, no warning lights except the usual red light on start-up that clears as soon as i move off

both wheels spin freely when its on its stand

its just when i roll gently to a stop at a junction at sub 10mph the brakes seem to pulse on and off... a bit more lever pressure and it stops suddenly!



any ideas?

hope not! bikes only done 9000 miles
there is no visible disk wear worth a damn.... i would have thaught i would be able to feel a disc warp all the time at the lever


can i clock the discs to check. in-situ

Steptoe.... you are of course the oracle on all things GS

i jacked the bike up at the front and had another play...

i could induce a slight zzzz zzzz zzzz rubbing on the nearsiside by varying the pressure on the lever (engine off)

i have had the wheel out and disks off to clean everything "properly" prior to this problem.... there was a bit of flaking powder coat on the hub around the disk mounting boss's

wonder if that could be enough to cause the disk not to seat properly?

will take the wheel out and disc's off again and have a look
