Hi All, ABS lights coming on and off pretty regularly now. Anything I should be looking for for a fix? r1200gs lc

Check the ABS sensors and rotors on each wheel are clean and clear of debris, can cause warnings.

yep i have cleaned sensors and optimated the battery. The esc light is on all the time as well as the abs light. I cant seam to switch off the abs like i can with the esc. ie i can make the esc either flash or always on, Nothing happens with the ABS light. Am i doing something wrong. is control unit for this in the main ecu, or elsewhere. Thanks all

i just fettled the front brake the other day and brakes started pulsing. Kinda scary driving it now. use it everyday for commuting.

My guess if you were playing with the front brake is you have done something/damaged the front abs pick up ring.

I wouldn't send anything to BBA reman, seen too many of there bodges.

Can you elaborate?
Have heard good things about them...

I fault diagnose cars for a living, I see "repaired electronic units " on a regular basis , like every week, that haven't been repaired properly, or worse, totally destroyed.

The only way a fault can be diagnosed properly is on the vehicle, or with a proper test rig, these companies cant have a full test rig for all the ecu's they claim to be able to repair.

Specifically on BBA ,Ive had 2 ecus this year where they couldn't repair, so they supplied second hand units they had "virginised". One worked, only after being programmed by myself.
The other one they corrupted the eeprom data, so its an expensive door stop.
To add insult they lost the original unit, preventing me cloning a second hand unit.

Repairing ecu's is a very hit or miss business, fine if its a well know pattern failure, if not cross your fingers.

Are you all barking up the wrong tree??

When you say your ABS light is coming on and off pretty regularly .... is that in use?

Maybe it's just doing what it should do? It's cold and damp out there, traction ain't what it was a few months ago - maybe you're a bit ham fisted on the gas and brakes and it's ........ working !!

:nenau

* Edit * .....

I see you're in Spain !! Maybe it's not so cold and damp .... :D

At the moment it starts up with The ASC flashing and the ABS solid on. It stays like this even when driving. I can change the ASC to either flashing or solid on, but not off
I cannot make the ABS light do anything, its solid on all the time. Previously it was working on and off, ie all the lights would go out after a few on/off ignition attempts etc. warning triangle etc Now it looks completely faffed. Any ideas where i should be looking for the controller etc. i have to say that Ducati Multi enduro is looking more enticing by the day :)
