Hi I have a 1200 GSA 2007

I’ve had an abs fault for a year and just decided to fix it. Yep lazy fker

Using Texa I’ve traced it to rear sensor, is there an alternative to buying from BMW ?

Anything from another model or anything else fit ?

Tried cleaning it up no luck
Any help appreciated

I found the part number for mine on realoem where it tells you which other BMW’s use the same part, and then found a used one from Sherlocks from a low mileage bike alternative model.

I've had two of these go in short succession. So far so good.

As per Miserable Fecker, you can take your chance with a secondhand item. It's all a gamble as my first replacement was an OEM part (apparently) and that only lasted a year. Current OEM part is all good, so far.

But as for an alternative to OEM, over not heard of it, but maybe someone else knows?!

My used one from Sherlocks was off a 20,000 mile bike and has now done twice as many miles on my bike as the one that was fitted in the factory managed.

What price was new ?
I have just had to do the same.
Riding along last week suddenly Brake Failure warning light.
Scanned using MotoScan and rear wheel sensor.
Bought a new one with screw and O ring from Motorworks, £116 delivered.
Fitting is easy, a few clips and cable ties back to the loom plug by the top of the rear susupension.
Please note that the existing sensor will have a washer/shim on it and this will need to be transferred to the new sensor before installing it.
Once done, back on to MotoScan to clear the fault, test ride up the road, jobs a good'un.

Cheers

Apparently this is supposed to work although I must admit I wimped out and got an oem from Motorworks.

I think you've convinced to try that route if it goes again!!

Ordered from Motorworks
Forgot I had an account there but they recognised my number and gave me a bit of discount too
Hopefully here tomorrow
Let’s see if tgat cures it

We spoke to soon

This morning, a few seconds after exiting a ridiculously poor, shit piece of road, on a bend, (Crooked Billet - A308 heading away from M25 (London orbital m/way - maybe some of you know it?!) giving it some throttle to negotiate the bend, I got the brake failure warning.

When I come to leave this afternoon I'll see if it's still there. Just can't believe it's gone, again!

GS911 seems to think it's the rear speed sensor, again .

I've cleared the faults. Will check again tomorrow and see what comes up.

Adding to the fun, the new aftermarket front tyre pressure sensor has been throwing up a fast flashing red triangle the last 3-4 days, but once underway, it disappears and works fine. With ignition on and fast flashing red triangle, it also displays the RDC with the front tyre data missing, until I get going that is.

Could it be broken/degraded loom wiring from ecu to rear speed sensor, or bad inline connector contacts near the rear shock area ?

This is a good suggestion and I'm going to take a look. The only detail suggesting not is that each time, the new sensor fixes it

I'll have to bite the bullet but at the weekend, I'll get the tank off and see what I can find.

I cleared all the faults last night, so tonight I'll plug in an see what the GS911 throws up. It's a shame there's no date with the fault codes as I am sure some were old. Curiously I do have one fault still present after clears which is to do with the flappy valve servo. As you can imagine, that's last of my concerns!

Will report back this evening

You will always get a flappy valve fault code if you unplug the servo or just disconnect the Bowden cables . so may as well remove the lot.
I fitted the little Healtec box on the cable as this removes the fault code permanently. I was not sure what the ecu was doing while the fault code was present ??? Who knows !!
This does not help your sensor problem, I would first take it all apart check the cables clean and lube the connectors clear the fault codes and pray.

I guess the ideal way to confidently test it is to rotate the wheel and observe the sensor waveform with an oscilloscope.
