A month or so ago I had a few issues with "brake failure" lights coming on intermittently. I'd removed the rear ABS sensor and wiped off a tiny bit of gunge in the hope that this was interfering with the readings (the speedo also failed when the warnign lights came on). This resolvd the problem for a while, but it has returned this weekend.
I've tried the same thing again but (not surprisingly and, all things considered, probably for the best) the ABS/speedo sensor was still squeaky clean. So either the sensor itself is giving up the ghost or there is something else astray. I'll take it over to have the diagnostic readout checked to see if that throws any light on it all.
Anyone had similar isues/problems?
(Incidentally, when this happens, I get unassisted braking - "residual braking"I think it's called - for a while BUT the servos kick in unpredictably. Slowing down for a roundabout on the way home, residual braking required a reasonable heave on the front brake lever. Servos then kicked in. Result: instant burst of very hard braking, nuts crushed on tank. Could be extremely dangerous if cornering even slightly at the time.
