brake failure and stop warning lights flashing constantly on 1150rt,any ideas?,cheers rick

hi,it is a bit sluggish starting, warning lights came on after putting on heated grips,i stopped bike for a short time and bike started ok but lights came back on straigt away,do you think battery is at fault? cheers rick

I had a similar problem with an 1150 a few years ago, new battery cured it.

Most probably it is you battery, had ABS and morning startup problems with my 1150 GS as well, changed battery...and never again experienced any of this issues...

hi,changed battery and pads but no difference, running out of ideas

All the previous battery advice given is only relevent for a non servo bike.

You haven't said if your bike is servo brakes or non servo ? Different braking systems with different flashing light warning procedure...

You haven't even told us what year the bike is. :blast

If servo brakes it could be something as simple as low fluid level in the servo units ??

Eee said it's an 1150RT. Don't they all have servos? My 02 RT does.

I'd check the brake light bulb first.

I think I am correct in saying it has two filaments in it - tail light and brake light. When the tail filament blows the bike puts low current through the brake filament so it looks like bulb still has both filaments working. This is one cause of the Brake Failure light to flash at you.

On the other hand, I could be talking complete testicles but I'm sure I read the above here first.
