Sorry guys for another ABS thread but mine developed a fault last week and I was wondering if it’s possible to diagnose the cause of the problem without taking to a dealer or independent ??? It’s a 2002 non servo bike and the ABS reset gives me a return to the simultaneous flash....until I reach 3mph when I get a return to the alternate flash which just then stays on.

My abs fail was cured by readjusting the alternator belt, it was slipping, the charge light didn't come on but the battery never reached fully charged, I would reset the abs it would be ok for the ride, setting off again would bring the flashing lights back

Don’t think mine is a charging issue.....just fitted a new Odyssey and the fault just reappears after a successful reset every time I set off.......which makes me think sensor ! Especially if I add the fact that I’ve recently had the rear wheel out to change the tyre ! Just would prefer to be sure before shelling £130 for a new one from Motorworks !
Thanks ! Read the article above and it’s really helpful. I’m sure it’s me just being thick but just a bit confused how you establish which fault you’ve got. The article lists the faults and numbers them 1-10 but how can I use that info ????
You can find the fault code with a 12 V led bulb. Connect it to pin 2 in your R1150 bikes tester plug and the other wire to the battery +.
This way it starts to flicker. Count the number of flickers, so you have the code number.
It flickers first, keeps a 5 sec pause and flickers then again.
Connect the wires right way so that the Led will be on.
Then you can reset the fault code according to this.

Brilliant ! Exactly the info I was looking for.......will give that a try. And you never even took the piss and called me thick
