Accelerator Module

I have had the Acclerator fitted for a couple of months now. Rode in to work yesterday (48 miles M5 and M4) for the first time in fours weeks. Great ride in. :thumb2

However it was the ride home that astounded me. The bike was super smooth, acceleration was great, it was a totally different machine. :JB I began to think the Accelerator module actually improved with use.

It was only when I turned onto the M5 southbound athat I realised why. Bloody easterly wind was behind me along the M4. Doh! :pullface

That was the first thing that entered my mind when I read your post before I read the last line! It's great when the wind is behind you isn't it, best rides ever!

I ordered mine 5th December, but it was lost in the Xmas post. Fair play to MAVN he sent a replacement last week.

Your delay might be due to him having to order futher parts, seems the popularity of the module caught him out.

You know what I wish Mavn every success with his little cable upgrade thing called the Accelerator. He's def not greedy with what he charges!

Ordered my Acclerator module after new year and did expect my order to be processed somewhen. However, I was not in a hurry as my season will hardly start before march due to snowy, icy and salty roads and notified also notified Marc that the shipment to me was not too urgent.
However he kept notifying me about a short delay in getting parts and the anticipated shipping date (which was kept).
The cable arrived yesterday, nicely wrapped with a good "how-to-install" guide.

I must admit I am deeply impressed by this great service...that aplies even more as he must be real busy and can hardly make a fortune as I feel the unit is reasonably priced.

Therefore:

I obviously have not test it yet but why shouldn't it work in my bike as well.

Ordered mine about a week before Christmas and received a ship date of early Jan. It arrived as promised, got fitted easy peasy but have only managed a quick 15 mins on the bike since fitting. Not conclusive I know, but bike ran smoother at start up and certainly had less jerkiness at low revs. Will get a longer ride in this weekend and post up.

Had another 2hrs on the bike today, twisty and motorway - now convinced there's a big improvement. Top end seems to have improved also......but possible just got there quicker than expected (not that that makes much of a difference to me as I find the bike uncomfortable over 100mph - which I guess isnt a bad thing for the old licence......).

Good in the twisty stuff also, quicker pick-up out of the corners, front wheel going light but in a nice, controlled, manner (+ heavy tank bag on + I'm 17st 6ft 4inch frame - so plenty to 'lift' !).

Very impressed.

It landed on the mat today :D will fit over the weekend, anyone got any info on miles to a tank with it fitted before and after

Ever since fitting my accelerator module, numerous things have went wrong.

I cant say I'm very pleased.

Before fitting it everything ran ok, as usual, but I'm now thinking of disconnecting it and I'm extremely disappointed .

On the very day I fitted it, it snowed . Then the car had a puncture.
A week after fitting, the clutch went wonky on my works van.

On the same day believe it or not, the stem on my favourite wine glass broke. This was the one I bought in France 2 years ago, and managed to bring back safely inside a trainer. It has performed faultlessly since then, and only broke days after fitting the accelerator module. Coincidence? I dont think so.

And then there was the Haitian earthquake.
There was no earthquake prior to fitting this part.

Im going to get my car MOT'd in about twenty minutes. It better pass or you are getting the blame .

Any advice welcome re: electrics/wiring/ECU/etc...

I wish I had this kind of experience and knowledge, sadly my line of work is very different altogether.

If I plug an item on my bike, bearing in mind I am not an electrical engineer, and then observe events occuring immediately after, I simply wonder IF there MAY be a relation between the two.

This remains a SUPPOSITION until I get further information, facts and objective explanations, from the person who has designed said item or any other person who has extensive experience in this field.

Which I obtained quickly and efficiently (THANKS Mavn!).

I know my limitations, when in doubt I ask.

Can't see the problem.

There is no problem mate and I'm sorry if my post offended. It was just that Den's post made me laugh. :thumb

All the best. :)

Well? Did it pass? This is rather important, as I am not sure whether to buy an Accelerator. The last thing I want is for my car to fail the next MOT, though, so I may be better with a Boosterplug.

Yes .... It passed. But I disconnected the module from my bike before taking the car to the mot station ........... just in case.

Well, a lot's been said, so mine's short. Got it, stuck it in, went for a ride.
Didn't notice too much of a difference while riding through the traffic....went for a bit of off-roadin...it's a different bike! Pleased much I am, Mavn thanks a lot !
