I'm having trouble with my log in details on Advrider, I've requested several passwords now and none let me into my account.

ADv have verified back to me that my account details are still live and active but for some unknown reasons I still cant get in ... has anybody got any ideas that may help.... please

:nenau

edit: I've recently cleared out my history, could that have something to do with it. I've also checked the settings to make sure I'm not blocking any cookies that may well interfere.

OK (sigh) ... can't think of anything else. What can it be ?

Well thanks guys, I was absolutely thrilled to receive all your replies ... excellent. :thumb2

Guess this is just one I've got to work out for myself then :nenau

Almost certain to be 'user error', probably in the syntax (no, not that ! ) of the username or pasword, either wrong 'case' or illegal space/s or characters.

Internet explorer ... I've been redirected to this and tried it

:(

No its not how I've typed it in either centeur, I checked and double checked that everytime just in case.
But thanks for the thought. :)

Hmmm...are you using a firewall, such as zonealarm or Norton and if so, have you 'allowed' the Advrider site as 'permitted' or whatever ?

If you want... PM me username and password i promise I'll do nothing else other that try and log on.. you can change it again if it works

got a feeling you are blocking cookies for the site some how

I'm using Norton, yes.

OK I'll do that soon Tuned. I just want to try something else just in, something adv have suggested.

Will come back to you soon :thumb2

Hmm, call me 'Mr Cynical' if you like, but the mere mention of Norton is calculated to send me into 'Terminator' mode. It may not be the culprit here...but who cares.....it's slowmo crap imo !!

Karen, it's the requested new password system.....it's easy to get it wrong.

Do the login 'forgotten PW thing, wait for the email with the new PW but don't try and use it for ten minutes........then vut and pase it in after clearing your cookies.

If you 'beat' the login server, it fails.......I've had it here before and itcan be a PITA....it took Paul and I an hour to get it sorted.

Thanks guys, thanks for all your suggestions.

I'm still having a little trouble ... they've changed my login name twice and the password god knows how many times. Johns a lovely chap, we've shared lots of emails now.

I can see myself logged in on the listings but can't post anything as it says I'm just a lurker

They're going to check a few things out at their end and come back to me.

I'll have another go later Fanum ... I usually leave it for about 30 mins before I try again. As you say its a PITA at the moment. I might have to get one of you chaps to send my american lady a message on my behalf soon. She was going to try and get over for the weekend we have planned.

Bugger :(

I've had an email ... so how do I do this then ?

............... she uses UKGSer says her browser can handle vBulletin cookies.

My guess is there is some corruption in her cookies or cache and that one or the other or both have to be cleared, then the browser re-started. After doing that, logging into ADV first and checking the box, "remember me", should do the trick. There may be a problem of cookie confusion between UKGSer and us.

Can somebody explain in a very user friendly language please.

So where do I start ? :o

Before you do that have you tried a different browser such as Firefox? If it still not work it is not related to cookies directly and could be a third party application such as a Firewall or a web content filter at fault. It makes it a lot easier to track down the error :)

If you are using Firefox, go to Tools, Clear Private Data, and then probably best select everything (tick) and ok. Will sping clean Firefox.
If using IE7 go to Tools, Delete Browsing History (first menu option), Delete All.
