Accessory socket cutting out

I've got a Halfrauds 12v air compressor (type inflator), and I've also got a accessory socket to cigarette lighter converter so I can plug the compressor in.

Problem is it cuts out when it's put under load.

The bike had been sitting in my garage (with no power) for a few weeks in December all the way to the start of February, so well over a month unused. After I started using it again it obviously complained about turning over, but it did so every time, but with obvious signs of a weak battery.

My question is, will the bike cut power to the accessory socket with a battery in this condition, it has improved during the time I've been riding it, and I've always used the socket with the bike running.

Cheers my lovers! *somerset*

Popell is right, the accessory socket trips out at 5A. Unlike a fuse the canbus system will reset itself.
5A if my basic maths is correct???? is 60watts at 12v. I found this was not enough to power my Gerber heated jacket and boot liners so I have a hard wired (and 10A fused) accessory socket for the bigger items.

Yep, I've got a 12v one from lidl that is 100w, cuts it out in seconds.

Sweet, so really I need to look at hardwiring this compressor (well... hardwire a socket) directly to the battery then.

Cheers folks.

I fitted a second socket on other side of key, in exactly same place as original socket but on right side if that makes sense. Remove centre of fake tank and you will see gap in moulding underneath that will take the rear of the socket.

I'll be honest the air pump is the only thing I've had trip the canbus, everything else has been fine.

This air pump is rather big, it's was a cheapo Halfords £20 job... isn't there a small one that people on here have... small enough to tuck under the seat?

Strip it down by taking off all the plastic, you have the compressor in a tiny space with the pipes and wiring.
Most of the pump is just the plastic housing.
