Never stayed here but stopped in for a pint and a bite to eat. Really nice place in a rural village a few miles from St Andrews.

Here

Dont know room prices for the Barns at Kingsbarns but nearer Glenrothes and thus slightly cheaper is Falkland which is possibly the nicest village in Fife. The Bruce Inn has a few rooms and is a great wee pub that does good meals.

The Barns room prices are on their website (from £100 per room IIRC). Nice rooms they are too and probably worth the money for BnB)

If I was looking for somewhere comfortable, reasonably priced, good meals in a nice location (AND where there were 2 or 3 other pubs where you could get a pint), then I'd probably opt for Falkland. The Barns is the only place in Kingsbarns where you'll get a pint.

Falkland has 3 pubs: all good ones :beerjug:

I'd have a look at the Inn at Lathones - http://www.innatlathones.com/

I've never stayed there but have had Sunday lunch there, a couple of times, recently. They also have gigs in the coach house on a regular basis.
