Hi after a recommendation for a hotel or similar for the following:
About an hour north of Portsmouth. Our route will be past Southampton and Winchester then A34 Newbury and Oxford.
We'll be 6 riders & bikes.
Want secure bike parking
We'll arrive into Portsmouth via ferry from Bilbao approx 9pm

We'll be riding up to York the next day.
Any advice/recommendations welcome.
Thanks Karl.

I usually stay at the Conningbrook Hotel, Ashford when heading to the Chunnel.

Good food and beer.

is that the time you dock?

bear in mind it will be at least half an hour before you get off the boat then you have passport control to contend with. You are unlikely to hit the M275 until 10pm at the earliest and arrive at a hotel at 11pm. This will limit your hotel options as not all will offer check in this late.

If this timescale still works for you, check that the Chequers Hotel in Newbury will allow a late arrival. It is an hour from the port and has parking through the passage shown in this streetview https://maps.app.goo.gl/rGjZxRtDtbW6fmZF7
https://chequershotelnewbury.co.uk/contact/ mentions 24hr room service so there should be a night porter.

I'm off to Austria and Switzerland later in the year and I need to stay overnight for an early morning ferry.

Can anyone recommend a hotel in Folkestone Hotel with secure bike parking, please

Tia 😁

Any accommodation recommendations for an overnight stop with bike security in mind, around 30 minutes from the Tunnel terminal, check in closes 9:50.
Many thanks

This side or sausage side…..

If this side the Holiday Inn Ashford is fine.

St Omer, Mercure, centre gare. Plenty of eating and drinking places, decent hotel, parking round the back and very handy for the tunnel.

Ah, scrap that, sorry can’t help this side.

In that case, HI Ashford works

We stayed down in Hythe last year, and are booked in to the Red Lion there in June.
Its only ten minutes to the Tunnel by back roads so a nice easy ride up, perfect for early starts.
