Acf 50 is this the best stuff to buy

Reading this thread is enough to make the blood boil.

BMW, is regarded as one of the worlds premier engineering companies of automotive excellence. And they charge you for the privilege of owning such a quality, well designed piece of engineering.

After decades of design and innovation, they can't even stop a bit of rust........................ Penny pinching twats.

I've hesitated to join in the BMW bashing ...Having been so thrilled with my F650GS and F800GS..... but , after looking over my R1200GS "triple black" bike today, I think it's just 4 months old ...I'm really disappointed ! Its never been near road salt either....

I think those miffed about corrosion have a valid point. I can't believe a KTM or Triumph would go downhill so fast. What the heck are they doing. (and can I blame Islam or the EU? ...ok that bit is just for Auwyn,...X)

On closer inspection today when washing my bike I can see small deposits forming where the spokes pass through the wheels. Do I really have to acf50 all of the spoke penetrations as well.

Bottom line.

Metal isn't what it once was. Neither is environmentally friendly bullshit paint .

The point about paint is certainly valid, I suspect that in the quest for weight and cost reduction there is an increased use of alloys with all sorts of elements weaved in, as such dealing with galvanic corrosion and oxidation is much harder. I suspect Fe and Al alloys of the past were purer so easier to protect.
I also wonder whether with the rates of production required to meet demand proper preparation of the surfaces is not occurring in the factory prior to paint application.

So a quick update guys and took the plunge and bought two bottles for £50 from m+p heated it up and applied with a small paint brush and think I may have put in too much so maybe a cloth to work into the metal work and keep the cloth for future use ?
Cheers

I bought a small compressor from machine mart and use that to apply the acf50. I got that in a bottle from Nippy
