Hi folks if I buy achro titanium downpipes does the bike need remapped

ISTR that Akrapovič used to say that you didn't need to alter the fuelling. However, to get the full benefit of a decat system, you will need to have the fuelling optimised.

I have a full Akrapovič system on my bike, albeit with the stainless steel headers. I've had the fuelling adjusted and the bike goes like the proverbial.

I have the Akra stainless steel headers and the AF-Xied fitted which I ran on settings 7 before I fitted the Akra headers, but upped the settings to 8 after fitting the new headers. It was just a ten minute job. I do think that the fuelling needs to be richer to get the full benefits from the decat headers.

In my experience if you've got a 1200 then yes...but if you've a 1250 dont bother as the fuelings that good already

My mate has the last of the R1200GSA’s with a full titanium Akropovic system fitted and he had to get his one remapped as she was running too rich.

I bought a R1250GSA from Vines and got them to fit a full titanium Akropovic system (subject to another thread due to a faulty back box) and they told me that the 1250 engine “sorted itself out” and didn’t require any remapping.

Thanks folks its on a 1200 can they bikes be mapped with an app etc when I had the 1050 tiger I downloaded a program on laptop and you put maps on yourself

Leasky the bike was definitely not running too rich after putting a full Akra system on...Maybe a little lean but for sure not too rich !

Just to add, the bike is a 2015 GS. I did a valve check about a month or so after fitting the headers, whilst doing the check I took the opportunity to have a look at the plugs, and they were a lovely mid beige colour.

Just fitted headers to mine along with a Rapid bike Smart (titanium headers) did a 379 miler today and it’s running brilliant. R1250gs 2018

Yes rapid bike is good solution like Af-xied, no magic, but sadly no af-xied yet for 1250
