I have just swapped the wheels on my 2022 GSA to another set of 2022 GSA wheels and tyres.
I tried to program the ‘new’ sensors on my GS911 and it wouldn’t read them. My learning tool would not activate them either.
I rang GS911 support and was told the new (2022 onwards ) TPMS needed a test and and an activation. Basic wake up tool does not cut it.
I manually inputted the new codes ( 7 digit compared to 10 digit for the removed wheels) and although I could input them with the GS911, I still couldn’t wake them up.
I would take them for a ride out but not in the snow!
Any pointers?

No help here other than if you’ve have input the code you should be fine when you ride.

Mines a 2021 so I had no issues.

Happy for you to pop them over here and we can have a go with my wake up tool/GS911 and my bike if that helps. Just bring a wheel and we can have a try.

When I bought the new tpms jobbers to replace one on the rear of one of our RTs (not the banana type), there wasn't any code, I asked the dealer and they said they don't come with codes anymore and you have to plug it into the computer and then wake them up and they will recognise and self populate. So I took the bike to a local garage and they plugged in their computer (non dealer) and used my cheapo wake up tool and it worked.

Same offer of help here (Nantwich area), if that's closer to you. Have the kit to id them and also wake them up manually.

You can also deflate and inflate the tyres to wake up the sensor.

I have this ‘wake up’ tool. It would wake up my original sensors to show psi in TFT before it was riden, but no psi reading with the new wheels after manual input of TPMS codes via GS911.

Thanks. Is it the same wake up as above?

Genuine BMW sensors on original 2022 rims.
I was told today by GS911 technical that the very latest BMW rims have different sensors that need to woken up in a different way!
He thought only expensive equipment could do it or possibly take the bike for a ride and try that!

I’d wait and see what happens when you ride the bike, or drive 20mins and we’ll have a go with my gear (although I have the same wake up tool).

I had to have a couple of goes to wake up my cast wheels, ended up going through the sidewall to wake them up and going through the cast alloy didn’t seem to spark them in to life.

Is your GS911 a pro version as you will use up one of your VINs doing my bike with your 911. If I bring a loose wheel to you, how will we know if the sensor is awake?

We can awaken it and see if it will read on my 2021 bike, no need to use another vin.

If I can see on my bike it must be either the awake tool or a difference in the new bike :thumb2

Well that didn’t work.
Went for a 35 mile ride out at speeds of 50 -60 mph and nothing. ‘Still PSI —-‘.
I think it will need either the dealer kit or the ‘fancy’ wake up tool that does wake up and test which I believe the latest bike requires.

Some further info.
The TPMS sensors changed in mid 2022 to a different type. They look different at the valve end as they are more circular body than square shape. So what I need to find out is an early 2022 sensor compatible with the later bike.
There is also now no standalone TPMS module . It is now built into the keyless module. Can still be found with a GS911.
Will they communicate or are now incompatible?

I can’t help as I’m computer/technology thick but any time myself and Mrs have any issues(850gs and 1250gs) I pop to Williams in Manchester and speak to Levi. She’s got numerous (8 in 2022!) nav6 units that had ghosting/freezing issues exchanged and is very much the go to person up there. Go on a nice weather day and enjoy their free coffee and biscuits. A bit of polite charm and it might be sorted for free.

I think that may be the only way.
Don’t you use Chester?
