Active 7 Smart, louder?

Hi

Is there any device I can buy to increase the sound of my Autocom Active 7 Smart whilst I'm using my Garmin Zumo 550 built-in MP3 player? I wear ear plugs because of wind noise, and this seems to dull/decrease sound alot.

I need a little more volume please, any ideas thanks..? What cost might it be?

Try the sound file mod as advised on the Zumo forum, it makes it louder but a bit less clear. I've done this and find the volume with an active smart 7 OK provided I turn the volume on the autocom and the zumo to max. I have another bike with the newer autocom and the volume isn't quite so loud. With the vol on max the autocom is a bit crackly but at least I can clearly hear the directions at any speed. The voice file frig ups the volume at the expense of a bit of sound quality, give it a try.

Autocom quoted me £10 plus p&p to send them my active 7 smart and have the unit altered to increase the volume. Haven't done it yet but it's worth a try...
