Adaptive LED

i have the voucher in the pack they gave me at hand over

i just took the letter from BMW with me when i had it done

there appears to be no timelimit, but there may be a product limit i.e. it is only to be used on motorrad products not general products they may sell in the shop in the show room

i dont need £500 of cleaning products
Use on equipment, tyres, service, clothing etc

Hadn't thought of a service, it's almost due its 6000 mile service.
Hi Bob, have you had your headlight done ?
I am looking at buying a gs privately that is 1 year old but waiting for its headlight change. Not sure if its worth the gamble of it getting done after buying it.

Not had it done yet but have been told it's on his way! My bike will be a year old in 4 weeks.

Ring your preferred dealer and ask them, from what I've been told the replacement headlight is tied to the bike, not the owner.

Also ask the seller if he still has the £500 compensation voucher - I used £248 of mine for the 6000 mile service and have a £252 credit on my account.

Thanks Bob, I ll give M&P a phone to see if they can help me out. I know he has the £500 voucher but some say its not transferable. And I would be looking to have it done in a different dealer as the voucher came from.

I have just had my headlight replaced. Exactly one year to the day since I picked up the bike. Also spent my £500 voucher, so the saga had a happy ending.
Good news. Can't see why the £500 voucher can't be transferred. The dealer just gets onto the BMW mothership, gives them the details of the voucher, and they send/credit the dealer with the £500.

just over the year and got my light changed yesterday and had the foot peg circled real done at the same time , not been out in the dark yet but looks good have tried tilting the bike over to she how the headlight moves but nothing happen I guess you need to be moving for this to happen plus used the voucher to get the Vario top box and bracket

Well guess who bought a gs today ?
Just ridden home from Portsmouth, got to say I am impressed by its handling and it is a bit more comfy than my 748 ducati.
Am I officially an old biker now ?
Just my headlight to sort out now.

Just had an email telling me mines in and awaiting fitting. Say it will take them most of the day!
Do I really need to go all the way to the original dealership, which is a 180 mile roundtrip or can I get them to send it to my closest one, who will be servicing the bike, moving forward?

I wouldn't complicate things, just do the round trip and get it done.

No, you can, if you wish, get them to send the headlight to your nearest/preferred dealer, who will do the fitting; my original dealer offered to do that, to send the new headlight to another dealer nearer to me.

But I opted to stick with the original dealer. This because, although they're 160 miles round trip away (vs. 90 miles for the nearer dealer), I believe (hope) that there could be some benefit in returning to them, in maintaining the relationship, and I intend to also get the servicing done there (and I have family in that area, who I can visit, and stay with).

I'm taking it to the original dealership. They need to fill in the service book for the 600 mile service and can check the spring and emergency call error message at the same time.

I had an emergency call message on mine yesterday. Whats is it all about ? Will it reset itself ? Any ideas

I think It's when the cell signal is temporarily lost. Seems fairly random, although there's a couple of places where it happens regularly to me.

Nothing to worry about. It's usually gone next time you start the bike.

Did it twice on mine and once to my mate. Not seen it since September so it has reset.

mine did it to yesterday so as a number of people mention it, it must be a fault with the system not the bike - anyway message has gone away now

as for LEDs

They are ok, not sure if they swivel, came back from Belfast last week (6/10) on the 19.30 ferry so got to Cairnryan at 21.45 ish and rode home in the dark/poor weather and the lights were ok, far better than the halogen ones

i was able to travel along the road and go around bends rather than 50p them as i did the last time i rode with halogen, as i couldn't see and that was in summer in good weather

they pick reflective road furniture up a good half mile distant may be more, the road from Cairnryan to the M6 is well served (most of it) with reflective studs and other things giving you a good indciation of where the road goes

Well, had mine fitted today but DRL is not enabled due to a software issue. Happened to another one yesterday and they are now awaiting guidance/solution from BMW.

No way am I taking another day off and riding back down there for this. They'll have to liaise with my local dealer for it to be completed.
