I want to add a high level brake light to the bike.
Is it as easy as splicing into the brake light wire or will the gods of Spandau cast the devils of the canbus at me?

setting your bake light to flash use to be illegal and could still be, i was stopped by the old bill 30 years ago for that offence.

I just want the simplest solution without paying out £100's

from the dark side this was sent

The RT and K1600 have option of a high level brake light. I guess if you search on ADVrider someone would have done it already. Wether it is a hexhead or LC doesn't matter. It still is CANbus.

Or search on REALOEM for the bits you need.

Brake and rear light misan £14.95 eBay. Fitted and worked on 13 plated lc works a treat.

From my GSA LC Handbook...

Hazard braking
with ABS ProOE
If you brake sharply from a speed in excess of 50 km/h the brake light flashes rapidly as a warning for road users behind you.
If you brake until your speed is less than 15 km/h the hazard warning lights start to flash as well. The hazard warning lights switch off automatically as soon as you start to accelerate and vehicle speed reaches 20 km/h.

This guy is good. http://www.vizi-tec.com ordered one for my RT, not high level but modulates your brake light to the traffic conditions. i.e. how often you're braking. Plug and play and no issues with can bus.

Not really bothered about the flashing, just a simple solution to an additional brake light.
