I would like to fit the additional lights for my GS but struggle to identify "value for money" from BMW or Touratech!! (nothing new there I hear you say!)

Has anyone found any alternatives which they could reccomend?

I've just had a fantastic set of lights done by BigTrailBikeRider (aka BTBR).

Very efficient lights, very neat installation, very good customer service and much better value for money than the big names.

Do a search and you will find a whole lot of nice things said about BTBR and his lights.

Adventure lights

You havnt got a web site address or phone number have you please, my search was useless, then again I'm not exactly The Lawnmower Man!
Cheers

I believe BTBR is a bit of a southerner

if you find someone who does the same quality work a bit further north, I'd be interested too.

Here I am......................sorry!

I am in Redditch, Worcs or junc 2 of the M42 as a rough guide!

My e-mail address is as shown somewhere in this thread and my mobile number is 07761 786828.

But don't expect to get them done straight away. I am booked up now every Saturday now until September.

And the dark nights arn't even here yet...............

My missus loves me..............not!!!

PS
I only 'do' clean bikes from now on as well!

Oh, shit!!!!!!!

He expects you to ride 150 miles and STILL have a spotless bike .. <gulp>. Better hope my day is sunny, then.

Don't worry if its not sunny as theres a garage at the bottom of the road and they have a jet wash that you can use..........;)

Don't need anybody to do mine but myself. Not that I am an expert mind. I used a colour printer to print out how and where to install the 'Auto switch' and where to splice into. That is going in this weekend. Patience has its virtue.

Made my own alu lightbar c/w drilled holes. Sprayed enamel gloss black (lubbly).

Already Shortened and modified the wiring harness's for the 2 x xenon spotlamps. Done my own cutting, soldering and shrink wrapping.

I am no electrician but, I can read instructions and don't mind making mistakes, albeit rectified later ( harnesses a wee bit short).

Can't wait to see them light up the sky. Hope tp have them finished by Bombfire night :D

Hi BTBR, you're obviously The Man whan it comes to lighting :bow

Due to your obvious popularity and lack of Saturdays, have you thought about doing mail-order kits? With your lighting discounts, looms and instructions plus occasional telephone support for numpties who get it wrong, I'm sure you'd have a thriving business, with more free Saturdays... and your wife might love you again ;)

Just a thought. And I'd be happy to be guinea pig for the first 1200 kit! :beerjug:

Hi Dreamer,

Two things:-

1) It is simply not cost effective for me to do the kits mail order as just the parts alone cost me £25, then add 2 - 3 hours to make it all up. So how much do you think that I could sell them for?

£50 maybe, plus p & p at say a tenner = £60

But for £100 its all fitted, no hassle, plenty of cups of tea and sausage sarnies.............no brainer really isnt it?

Plus the fact, I really do hate making up the kits. I usually make up ten sets at a time and it takes me every night for a week to complete.

I have supplied kits in the past and no matter how detailed you make the instructions, some people get themselves into a hell of a mess. I am then expected to sort it all out over the phone when it goes tits up. No thank you, I will offer as much support as I can to people but there are limitations.

2) I don't do 1200's, and to be honest I cannot cope with the work I have doing the 1150, let alone start on another model, sorry!

BTBR
