Can you adjust the TPS setting on it's own or is it advisable to do it along with something else? For example, throttle balancing.

Cheers
Joe

If you want to check something Yes but If its running badly

Then probably better to do a service including check the rocker end float, then check the valve clearances and the plugs etc

Then you do the TPS setting and finally the throttle balance

Try NOT to move the little screws at the back of the throttle bodies better just to move the big brass screws to set the tickover

Have since balanced the throttles and is running better. However, the lumpy bit that was there at about 3K revs has now dropped down to about 2.5K revs.
I shall clean the spark plugs over the weekend and see how I go.

Its easy to check see here me doing ithttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7hAJXk2LsU
Easy to check.

Engine off - sidestand up - kill switch on - ignition on - probe in PIN 1 RED/WHITE wire and negative to the battery or PIN 4. Make sure you have mV set on your DVM. Should range from 0.380-0.400 max and range upto 4v well at least on mine.

Recommended setting is 0.385mV but can run richer at 0.400mV (Police setting - over heating, high fuel consumption, carbon) = Bad!
