I found it useful on tracks like the Ridgeway, you’re not slipping the clutch as much through the nadgery bits as guys on the normal 1st gear.
The only slight disadvantage I found is on the road, if you’re hammering it and going down the gears quite quickly for a very tight bend you have to give it an extra few revs on the last downshift to prevent a jolt into 1st.
I specced my adv with the lower gear,but another dealer checked my vin number on the bm computer system and said it shows its got the standard box.Is there a way of cheking? what sort of speed do you get at idle in the low 1st?
