I have read of discomfort issues on single seats.I assume that this version is for practical off road solo work.
Any opinions/advice on the subject.
I intend to use the bike mostly on road and solo with the option to occasionally take a pillion.
If I go for the twin seat option ,will it come mounted on the height adjustable mounts that my 1100 had?
Thanks in advance

Yes it will

I didn't realise ther ewas a single/twin seat option for the adventure? and mines certainly not height adjustable?

Schnauzer,Options list "Double black seat"

I was advised that this was not just the colour option but also was the two-piece seat fitted to 1100/1150.(as opposed to it being a short single seat for one rider or twin for use by two, which of course you can do with the 1100/1150 version)

Following an afternoon on the site it appears that the "double black seat" may indeed be the low version of the seat.

Whilst I,m on...what,apart perhaps from the price, made you go for the system cases over the Adv alloy?

Don't worry about it until you find you have a problem.....

My bog-standard ADV seat is absolutely fine......I use an Alaskan Buttpad for long journeys (up to 800+ and no probs) but have also had no complaints from my Pillion about seat comfort on 400+ mile journeys. (only complaint I got was leg cramping.......that soon stopped when she fell asleep ;) )

Try a search for ADV & Seat and you'll find as many opinions as you'lll find bum shapes from the ones who opine.....and several hours of reading to do .

As an owner of an Adventure & having recently ordered a new one, the seat options are as follows -
Grey/Red
Black/Yellow
Black Standard (same shape as above)
Black Lower seat (scalloped out about an inch & therefore widely regarded as less comfortable)

None of these are adjustable in any way. Standard seat height is 900mm.

Any experience of panniers, top boxes and rack systems
Would appreciate your advice/opinions on pro,s/con,s and best options

too much confusing info on forums

Torn between ease of use/invisibility of system cases when off the bike or to go the whole hog and buy the alloy system whilst I can ,although pretty ugly when off bike.

I only tend to have the system cases on the bike when away on long trips/camping etc, so probably around 80% of the time I don't have the boxes on. I thought the 'carriers' for the ally BwM boxes look awfull without the boxes when compared with the teeny black plastic hanger you get for the plastic ones. My main reason was cost... I got a good deal on the plastic boxes when I bought the adv, and I think the ally ones were several hundred quids more which I couldn't justify at the time. From a looks point of view I prefer the black bike with the black plaggy panniers and the silver one with the ally ones...... As to the seat... never had a problem with it ( apart from getting a new one under warranty when the original split). I've done lots of long day and week trips and found it fine. It took two 6 foot+ blokes down to cadwell for the superbikes last year and had no problems whatsoever
