Adventure helmets

I always had normal sports helmets, 2 years ago i bought an adventure helmet.
I will never go back.
  • The peak as already mentioned is good for blocking the sun.
  • At normal road speeds it also keeps rain off the visor, obviously at high speeds rain is hitting you horizontal so...
  • My helmet is also a flip style so good when stopped talking to someone and saves removing it at petrol stations, I've even gone through customs by just flipping, although this doesn't always work you get the odd anal git.
  • I find the ventilation during hot weather better too, just keeping visor open with sun shades down, maybe its the peak directing some air onto my face?
  • The field of view is better
  • You can wear goggles if that's your thing, although i don't.
  • Also if you ride a MX or Trials bike you can have a single helmet for all uses.
That's all I can think of for now 😁

Bought a Schuberth E2. It was that or the C5 as they're basically same helmet I believe.
The E2 was £20 more so I thought I'd try it.
There's a couple of tiny benefits (awarded by the peak) with sun and rain (rain only when going very slow in town).
TBH I do quite like the "look"
The E2 seems slightly more affected by side winds but not much.
No real advantage either way in my personal experience, get the one with the best deal, or you like the look of....

Adding a pic - I do think the E2 looks great on the GS :)

Thanks everyone for your thoughts for and against. I must say I do like the ‘look’ so will go and try a few on for fit and comfort.
