Adventure panniers - how much?

Been offered a set of still boxed BMW 1200 GSA ally panniers for £400 - I think that's a little cheaper than cost, unless anyone can tell me different?

Worth it?

Best price I have seen new with locks is £530 and they are the ones with the air vents.

Might sound ignorant but why would you want air vents in panniers that are meant to be waterproof????????

Cos they (esp the top box) has a tendency to pressure lock. The air vent helps prevent this and is positioned so as not to let water in.

Well I never knew that. Where should I be checking to find out whether they're vented or not?

They should have a little black bit of plastic by the rear lock.

£400 is a good price if they're still boxed
