The time has come for me to buy a new suit.

I'm liking the Hein Gericke and RST suits, but I do keep looking at the RUKKA kit despite the high price tag.

Who has experience of any these in particular the Hein Gericke and RUKKA suits?

I am also needing new kit, pretty much everything as my gear is ancient. I have been looking closely at the RST Adventure suit as it seems good value and most of the reviews are fairly decent. Hein Gericke sell a suit for around £400

RST is not very good on mild dry days. Its too warm with the warm lining in. Too cold without it and the waterproof lining is not very breathable. Thats my findings. Okay for a cheap suit.

I have the Rukka Athos jacket and matching trousers. They cost a fortune in UK but I got mine from bikerland.de a german website. They are much cheaper than UK prices and if you email them they normally knock a little more off too. Delivery is about £19 DHL.

I have had my kit just over a year and used it every day. No signs of wear or tear yet and a 5yr guarantee.

I do believe that you get what you pay for however shop around.

I bought the RST Adventure suit new but sold it after 1 week, for the reasons above

I then had a Dainese Gortex suit, which was excellent and better value.

Now got a Rukka Armas ..........

However, its very good but at twice the price of the Dainese gear, I honestly can't say its "twice" as good

I've just brought a spidi venture jacket for £179 new off eBay. Can say I'm very very impressed with the quality and technicality of the jacket. I wanted a layered system so loads of vents, removable waterproof and thermal layers with the usual pockets and quality armour. Can also be fitted with a chest protector.

Defo worth a look and just as good as the Dainese jacket it replaces. I am truly converted to layers.

Not as keen on their trouser options so on the hunt for something to go along with. Looking at the Wilf titanium outlast jobbies that look to be very similar to Halvarssons but considerably cheaper.

Yes Infinities are the place to go, often do end of line gear at very good prices
well worth a look. My previous jacket (Rukka) was thirteen years old but ripped the sleeve on the M 25, but was still waterproof and that has done a bit!.
Always look on the Infinity stand at the NEC as bargins galore on the end of range, the man on the Rukka stall directed me there.

One of my biking 'regrets' has been buying the BMW Savanna2 suit over the Rukka. Although my old BMW suit is still going after 7 years use, its very cold in winter as the wind blows straight through it and putting liners in/out can be a chore plus it could be more waterproof.

Rukka next time for me, probably at the NEC.

got a deal with bmw kit at end of year sale so far so good but would buy rukka again

Just thought I'd add my 2p's worth to the subject.
I bought an Alpinestars Andes Tourer Drystar suit last week from my local J&S for £320. Came back from a short trip to Cornwall yesterday in absolute monsoon conditions, completely dry underneath when I got home.
Well made up with it for the price!

Rukka the way to go - if it leaks within 5 years you get a new jacket

infinity may be good...but even with a healthy discount they're still considerably more expensive than buying from biker-land or louis.de

Fir the winter I have an Ixon Luxurious jacket that's very warm and very dry. Sadly they seem to have stopped selling into UK or I would have had trousers to go with it. For spring/summer/autumn I have Hein Gericke touring stuff. Its not as warm as the Ixon but ideal for British "middling" weather (as my dad used to call it) and has ventilation zips. The jacket is now 7 years old and gets damp in very wet weather but still fine with an average wet day.
