Advice for Northern Spain in March?

We are now two thirds of the way through March. What was / is the weather like, OP?

I reckon I could quite confidently say it has not been very good, we are on our fourth week of rain with only a couple or three days of dry and it has not been very warm, much like the UK in the winter really.

I hope he has found some good weather though.

I am building an Ark! :D

Current weather in clermont is warm and dry

BUT it is forecast to get cooler and wetter in the coming days

Also consider that between clermont and the med you have to pass some high ground where snow is still very possible

Seems this thread is a year old but the initial post echoes my thoughts on a(nother) wet cold Devon day.

I'm considering the Portsmouth-Santander dep Feb 19th rtn Mar 4th on the GSA. While the cost is an eyewatering £795 inc rooms, I'm struggling to think of another trip or geography that would offer good riding and a reasonable chance of decent weather. Any thoughts appreciated.

For that sort of money plus the running costs of the GS, fly ride to the Canaries or somewhere in Porto was recommended in another thread earlier today

Northroad in Porto seems an interesting outfit

for instance - this seems very fair

TOLLS

Northroad motorcycle fleet are equipped with an electronic identifier which allows the use of the Via Verde lane on the Portuguese motorways without stopping.

The toll/toll amount is recorded electronically and debited to the Northroad account.

Aproximately 30 days after the end of the rental, the Client will be charged by Northroad on the value of tolls on the motorcycle that was used during the rental period.

The use of this system has no cost, and provides a 30% discount on tolls

We've just driven from Scotland in the Camper
Did Hull to Rotterdam as I got a fab black Friday deal on the ferry
France mostly mild, and some very nice dry weather in places

But we crossed the Pyrenees last night....

To be fair, the roads all open, and the Col du Pourtalet is almost 1500m above sea level

Now on the coast a few miles West of Santander ,

Tomorrow Potes and over to Riano

After that Portugal for a few days

Weather ok so far

Big coat resigned to the cupboard, lightweight fleece over a t shirt

Shorts still in the cupboard but hopefully they'll see the light soon 😎😁

In the north and mid Spain the weather will be a lottery. Just looked at Malaga and in the next week its 14 - 17 degrees and a mix of rain and sun. I would leave it at least another month.
