Is mapsource cn v9 any good and does it work on a 2610 ok. or stay with v7
help is needed

2610 V9 CN

There wont be a great deal difference - some new roundabouts and by- passes but V9 is 2-3 years later that V7.

Note! The Mapsource updates have now stopped for 2610 versions at the 2009 version as the new NT Map Source is now used on Zumo, Nuvi and 2820/ Bmw Nav III units.
You cannot update your 2610 with the later NT maps.

I ran a 2610 for several years and it was excellent. Now use a 2820 and Bmw Nav III with NT City Navigator Europe NT 2010.

You may wish to use a larger memory card - up to 2GB and possible more is ok and takes most of the Map Source maps you download fron the computer.

Safe riding,
Mike

cheers mike just done it.seems a bit better but i can't get my thing to use the channel tunnel always take to a ferry.is there any way to change that or am i always going to do it manually.

Routing

It is possible that the V9 didn't have the tunnel.

You can route yourself to the tunnel, then a waypoint in France just out side the tunnel exit and it should route you through.

Otherwise just route yourself to the Tunnel at Folkstone and then start again in France.

My Bmw Nav III and 2820 routes through the tunnel if I set a route on the computer.

Regards,
Mike

thats what i do now.but would be nice to put a start point in and a finish and it do it all it's self..can be a bit of a pain.

V9 was a great improvement here in Ireland giving much better detail for us and does, as far as I can see feature the Channel Tunnel terminals. As mentioned, V9 is the last possible update for the 2610 and if you are considering keeping the unit I would recommend the upgrade.

BTW, I have attached waypoints for the CT terminals. :)

you can get 2009 map update-
MapSource Update City Navigator Europe 2009.
but i'm with Aidan V9 is a good update for the 2610.
